A Mission of Social Good: UC MBA Thought Leadership Presentation
10 June 2019
Israel Cooper, Director and Founder at Buildtech Group gave a talk at the latest UC Business School Thought Leadership series. He spoke about making a difference in business by focusing on people, values, and collaboration vs competition.
Buildtech is a national construction and development company with a mission of social good. It undertakes projects which build strong and resilient communities, through projects which build infrastructure to let families and communities flourish and thrive.
Mike Blackburn, Chairperson Canterbury MBA Graduate Association said ‘I work in the construction sector, so have had the opportunity to see first-hand what Israel and his BuildTech team are achieving. It was even more impressive to listen to him directly talk to everyone about his long term vision and goals.’
‘It’s unfortunate that more businesses don’t take this type of long term view. With so much talk about Kiwibuild it is great to see someone who is just getting on with the job of building houses for those who need them the most.’
The UC Business Thought Leadership series features leading business minds from New Zealand and abroad. Industry, students and alumni are invited to be inspired by innovation and insightful expertise from executives and entrepreneurs. Keep an eye on our website for future dates.
