UC Arts city location - at The Arts Centre of Christchurch

Arts Centre Front

Welcome to UC Arts at the Arts Centre of Christchurch.

In 2017, the University Of Canterbury moved UC Music and UC Classics back into the city centre, reconnecting itself with Christchurch city and its residents. The Old Chemistry building, located in The Arts Centre of Christchurch, is now a place of teaching and learning for Classics and Music students. The custom restoration of this Grade 1 heritage building features a beautiful recital room, teaching spaces, staff offices, and the Teece Museum of Classical Antiquities - home of the James Logie Memorial Collection.

We maintain a vibrant presence in the central city. Our busy events programme features concerts, lectures, seminars and museum tours. We also host national and international experts, and create opportunities for our students to work alongside these visitors and connect with the Christchurch community.

We are located at 3 Hereford St, Christchurch City.

Public access to The Teece Museum and School of Music rooms is via the wooden doors from the South Quad. A video with directions is available here.

Visit the Arts Centre of Christchurch website for location maps and further information.
