Alumni of the University of Canterbury receive a 20% discount on Dark Sky Project experiences (formerly known as Earth & Sky) at Mt John Observatory in Takapō (Tekapo).
To receive this discount, alumni need to phone the Dark Sky Project directly, inform them that they are UC alumni, and ask for the 20% discount to be applied. This requires booking with Dark Sky Project in advance, over the phone. The team at Dark Sky Project can assist with further queries.

The RecCentre is the primary fitness facility on campus. They have a large weights area, boxing training area, suspension training area, cardio equipment, climbing wall, squash courts and sports courts. The Rec Centre also has an extensive group fitness programme where you can be expertly guided through a large range of classes.

Access the UC library and get a discount at UBS
The University Book Shop (UBS) on campus is offering a 10% discount to all alumni. The discount applies to all full price items, including books, gifts, stationery and University of Canterbury merchandise (texbooks excluded). The discount applies to orders online and in-store.

Membership to the University of Canterbury Library is now free for alumni, and a new borrower card will also be provided at no cost.
If you wish to apply for a Library membership, you will need to provide proof of a physical address in Canterbury, as well as photo ID such as your drivers licence or passport.
To apply, simply fill out an application form at the Information Desk of any UC library. Please note, however, that applications cannot be processed after 9pm at the Central Library. Also, while alumni can borrow from the physical Library collections, unfortunately the Library are unable to offer access to electronic resources, such as online journal articles and e-books.

The UC Alumni 15% discount applies to the RRP of CUP titles ordered from CUP's online catalogue. Orders will be filled by Nationwide Book Distributors, who will also process payments manually and apply the discount.

The University of Canterbury Club (UCC) is a friendly and welcoming social club located across the road from the University of Canterbury at the iconic and beautiful Ilam Homestead.
Membership is open to all current and retired UC staff, postgraduate students, UC Alumni, Erskine visitors and people associated with the University of Canterbury.
You're welcome to visit UCC as a guest before you join, you'll just need to be signed in by a current member. Don't worry if you don't know anyone though, our friendly bar manager Jamie will be happy to sort you out!
