Course evaluations are designed to ascertain student perceptions of the delivery of courses. Course evaluations takes place every three years for all taught courses.

When is the next course evaluation?

The 2019 Semester 2 and whole-year Course Evaluation will start on the 7 till 27 October. For teacher education programmes, the course evaluation will start on the 4 till 24 November. What is the mandatory course evaluation questions?

There are 5 mandatory course evaluation questions (PDF, 75KB) (staff only).

Can I add additional questions?

It is now possible to add 3 custom questions or choose questions from the question banks. Please see the following link for instructions on how to do this:

When is the course evaluation results released?

In line with Teaching, Course and Programme Surveys Policy, Procedures and Principles (PDF, 448KB), evaluation results will be made available as soon as grades have been released to students (please refer to Examinations Intranet). A benefit of the new system is that lecturers and HODs can access results immediately on this date without any processing time.

How to do I get access to the course evaluation results?

To gain access to the course evaluation results, staff would need to assign “Access to SET Results” in Learn. Please see following document for instructions:

How do I feedback to students on the received course evaluation results?

We invite all staff to actively engage in closing the loop using such practices as detailed below.

If a teacher wishes to respond directly to feedback given in a SET response, the following template form can be used and then uploaded to LEARN:

Where do I access the historical summary for course and teaching evaluation results?

For course and teaching evaluation summary results, please refer to Historical Data and College Averages Intranet.

 

Teaching Evaluations can be a useful feedback tool for staff and are required by the University’s academic promotions process.

How do I request for a teaching evaluation?

When is the best time to schedule my teaching evaluation?

The best time to have your teaching evaluation is towards the end of your teaching and when students are still actively using Learn. Please see the calendar for the scheduled teaching evaluation window and note the deadline for each window:

Teaching assistant (TA)/tutor/lab demonstrator evaluations enables students to provide feedback to specialist staff.

How do I apply for a TA/tutor/Lab demonstrator evaluations?
