The Learning Evaluation & Academic Development (LEAD) team was formed in early 2019 as part of the Associate Vice-Chancellor (Academic) portfolio, bringing together Academic Development, Institutional Research, and the Course and Teaching Surveys. Our team works across the UC community to enable and support quality academic outcomes for staff and students.
The LEAD team informs academic development from student experience research and data. Opportunities to assist academic staff in developing their tertiary teaching include: support for programme development, workshops, coaching, and support for involvement in the Higher Education Academy scheme. The course and teaching survey system is also managed by the LEAD team, to assist teaching staff in the evaluation and monitoring of their teaching.
The institutional research expertise within the LEAD team ensures we can provide student experience-related information, generated from the suite of student lifecycle research surveys (PDF, 127KB), as well as bespoke reports to meet specific stakeholder needs. LEAD also provides support for staff and students wishing to engage in survey research using Qualtrics software.
