The Evaluation & Student Insights (ESI) team is part of the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Academic) portfolio, bringing together Institutional Research, Analytics for Course Engagement, and the Course and Teaching Surveys. Our team works across the UC community to enable and support quality academic outcomes for staff and students.
The ESI team informs the wider community using student experience research and data, allowing easy access to information through our Dashboards. The Analytics for Course Engagement (ACE) system oversees first year student engagement, coordinated centrally by the ACE coordinator. The course and teaching survey system is also managed by the ESI team, to assist teaching staff in the evaluation and monitoring of their teaching.
The institutional research expertise within the ESI team ensures we can provide student experience-related information, generated from the suite of student lifecycle research surveys (PDF, 127KB), as well as bespoke reports to meet specific stakeholder needs. ESI also provides support for staff and students wishing to engage in survey research using Qualtrics software.
