Web Training
To help departments maintain their own websites, we provide small class training to Web Administrators in Dreamweaver.
We also offer an number of self paced learning resources in this site.
I am a new UC Web Administrator and need training
A Web Administrator is any UC staff who will be editing, maintaining and/or updating a UC website.

This includes any UC staff who has previously attended the Web Teams Dreamweaver training.
Once you have received the basic Dreamweaver training offered by the Web Team you are expected to continue with self-paced learning using your training notes and material on this site.

Effective web communication focusing on content
Learn how to make your documents and web pages easier to read, user friendly and easier for search engines to find.

Learn how to prepare images for your site
Images for the web are prepared using specialised image software (never use Dreamweaver). Recommended only for those regularly adding images to their site. Web Support can prepare small numbers of images on an infrequent basis (and according to our prioritising system).
Training offered for PC users on photo editing
We recommend Photoshop Elements (recent operating systems often include basic photos editing software that is suitable). To get Photoshop Elements installed on your machine contact ictservicedesk@canterbury.ac.nz. The cost of the software/license is approximately $50.
