Headings and text style
The following styles apply to the body area of the template.
Note: Do not use capitals as a means of highlighting a word(s). Use bold as per the guide below.
| Style | Where to Use |
Heading 1 |
Use at the top of the page only in the content area. |
Heading 2 |
Use as section heading below Heading 1. |
Heading 3 |
Use as section or subsection headings below Heading 2. |
Heading 4 |
Use for navigation headings and subsection headings below Heading 3. |
Paragraph |
The main format which you write content in. This is the default in dreamweaver so you usually don't need to apply the style. |
Bold |
Use to draw attention to parts of your content such as words or definitions. Use sparingly. |
Italic |
Use only where formal conventions about the content require it - such as for academic journal citations. It is difficult to read on screen due to resolution being lower than in print. |
Red |
To draw attention to very important content or an urgent message. Use once per and very sparingly. |
| Link | Active Hyperlink - this will format automatically so you don't need to apply a style. |
| Visited Link | Visited Hyperlink - this will format automatically so you don't need to apply a style. |
| Indent | Used to Indent text to give visual hierarchy. Use indent style rather than indenting text from the properties panel as shown on right. |
