Optional navigation ('Quick Links' and 'See also')

Optional types of navigation support the primary navigation and link to pages external to your site.

Optional navigation on home pages

On home pages this is usually a list of quick links which provide quick access to pages within the site for frequent users. They appear visually as a tab below the main navigation.

Checkpoints

  • Quick Links are positioned below the main navigation.
  • The block title can not be a link and displays as a tab.
  • All links are plain text and bulleted.

Optional navigation on pages within a website

On lower level pages, a block of navigation often titled 'Related Links' or 'See Also' is used for links to other pages on other sites. These appear in an optional right hand side column.
