Images on home pages
Banner images
The banner image symbolises what the site is about.
- Complies with Brand Manual section 3.6 - Web (PDF, 773 KB, Staff Only).
- Edited by Web Team only.
- Each site has a unique banner image which features the UC Logo on the left hand corner.
- Where an official co-branding has been approved, the co-branded logo is integrated into the site banner. This must be approved by the Web Team Leader. Eg, National Centre for Research on Europe website
- The same banner image may not be used on more than one site; a unique banner image must be used for each site.
- Banner images must be at 1005 px × 120 px in size and can be abstract, with patterns, feature students or objects, but must not be offensive.
- Departments may supply or choose their own image appropriate for their site banner.
- All banners must be approved by the Web Team Leader prior to release.
Site title
The Site title is a gif image. It is edited by Web Team only.
- Complies with Brand Manual section 3.6 - Web (PDF, 773 KB, Staff Only).
- Profile font must be used for Site Title – white text 22pt Profile Māori-Medium with 5 px margins from the left of the title bar.
- Each site must have a title with correct colour for the title bar:
- Blue – College of Science
- Gold – College of Business and Economics
- Green – College of Arts
- Purple – College of Engineering
- Red – College of Education
- Black – Service Centres and Other sites (UC Homepage)
UC logo
The UC Logo:- Must be clearly recognisable as the UC Logo and not altered in any way
- Stands out from the background image. Light coloured or busy backgrounds are darkened to increase contrast between logo and background image. (The Web Team does this).
- Is on every page of the site.
Student Profiles
- Student Profiles feature on the right hand navigation (third column). The image is 125W x 160H
- Corresponding college colour is used as a background colour to the image and text
Homepage announcements/features (right column) images
- Thumbnail size images may be featured with the news items on the home page either as a rectangle (100 px by 75 px) or square (75 px by 75 px) – these can be linked to lower level pages with more information and a larger image.
Home page feature images
- Single or 3 feature images can be added below the main navigation on the home page.
- Feature current running ad campaigns or generic departmental images.
- Individual images as part of a 3 feature, maximum 170 x 200
- Maximum for single image 600 x 150.
