Images on general pages within websites
Photos of objects or landscapes
- Can be portrait or landscape orientation
- Avoid overcrowding your page with too many images – consider the impact on overall download size and time
- No images are to be added to left hand side navigation
- If wrapping text around an image the maximum width is 400 px in content area. (Allows for sufficient space for text on the page too)
- Images with wrapping text should have horizontal and vertical space of 5 – 10 px added
- Maximum width if no text wrapping around image is 750p
- Total width for image(s) in the content area must not be wider than 750 px. An image wider than 750 px extends to the right of the content area of the page, and readers are forced to scroll horizontally.
