Ken Beatson's Final Day 14 Dec 07
05 Dec 2007
Hello all
As you are aware, Ken Beatson will be going on his OE early next year. When the implementation plan was announced, Ken kindly volunteered to stay on as long as the University required to assist in the successful transition to the new structure. Now that both the Web Team Leader and the Web & Publishing Manager roles are filled, Ken is ensuring that there is a thorough two week handover prior to his departure from the University.
Therefore, I would like to inform you that Ken’s last day at UC will be Friday 14 December.
I would like to thank Ken hugely for his commitment to making the implementation plan a success and for his willingness to stay to assist in the transition.
On behalf of the Unit I would like to wish Ken all the best for his future travels. I would particularly like to thank Ken for his achievements in the Web Manager role. In particular transitioning the Web Team from a project team to a fully operational function of the University; for the huge work on the web re-branding (a personal favourite); for significant progress towards dynamic data-base driven web content and movement away from static pages; for his vision and success in gaining CapEx funding for the Qualifications and Content Management System projects; his leadership in the integration of CCE information and development of new resources (eg Campus Maps); and for his strong enterprise-wide solution focus – working on such projects as the Minor Course Change and People Publishing Systems.
Ken’s passion for the web, his vision for future web developments, his commitment to usability, best practice and innovation, coupled with his leadership of the web team have been fantastic assets for both SRDU and the University.
Thank you again Ken. We wish you well!

Director of Student Recruitment and Development
