Ken Beatson leaving UC for OE

Hi All,
I will be leaving UC around the end of January 2008 to do my "OE". This has been my plan for quite a while and now is the perfect time to do it. And its just about the last chance because I'm about to turn 30!
I joined UC in June 2005 as Web Manager and have immensely enjoyed working with the Web Team through many significant challenges. We had rebranding, the merger, establishing a content management system project and numerous other web improvements which UC really needed. Its been a very rewarding two and a half years.
I've been lucky in working with such a diverse, yet cohesive and talented team and I'll miss having them around when I move onto the next thing. I've been fortunate to have strong management support from Brigitte as a very web-focused Director of SRDU. Equally I've enjoyed working with the UC staff community and their strong support and encouragement.
I thought long and hard about applying for the new Web and Publishing Manager position. The new structure is great for the UC Web and it would be exciting to be part of that. But it is time for a change from a personal and professional standpoint.
I now will make the most of spending the rest of 07 and a little of 08 here at UC and bed down the work of the team ready for the transition.
