New Web Consultation Model
02 May 2007
We are setting up a set of new web interest groups so we can improve our communication with UC staff.
These include:
- Web Administrators Group - all web administrators
- Web Strategy Group - all those involved in management of large sites
- Web Developers Group - a high level of programming, technical and development skills
- Local College Web Groups - the needs of each particular college
- Reference Groups for specific projects (eg. Qualifications Publisher, CMS and People Publisher)
These will replace the Web Advisory Group.
The purpose of the new groups will be to:
- develop a better sense of community amongst staff involved in contributing to the UC web
- achieve comprehensive consultation and feedback between the Web Team and the UC web community
- communicate Web Team initiatives and developments
- promote and develop UC web best practice
We will consult with you in a number of ways:
- Quarterly General update presentations from the web manager to all groups [Starting May].
- Regular Forums with each group to gather feedback on specific topics relevant to them [Starting June].
- An online forum for discussion of specific topics and issues [May]
- A regular survey of the needs of each group starting with Web Administrators [June]
