Step 2 - Select a price option for your conference

2 key elements you provide before we can set up your registration form and price(s)

1 - Price options for your registration page

Choose either Option 1 or Option 2

The option and text you choose appears on your registration form. People choose a registration option and when they click the submit button they are taken to a page with links to the payment(s).

Note: UC does not have a shopping cart system where people select items that are totalled at checkout. If your conference includes dinner, both are included in the price.

  • The Events Team can help you work out prices. Contact events@canterbury.ac.nz
  • The Web Team arranges with IT for the prices to be set up in the UC Checkout system. We then add them to your website.
  • Note: We allow 4-5 weeks to build your website, including the time IT requires to build prices

Option 1: Conference and dinner included in cost
This layout is how price options look on your registration page.

  • NZ$... - Conference (includes dinner)
  • NZ$... - Conference (includes dinner) plus additional dinner guest

Option 2: Concession * and full price options
This layout is how price options look on your registration page.
(discount must be substantially more than the cost of staff time to create them, minimum 25%) **

  • NZ$... - Standard price - Conference (includes dinner)
  • NZ$... - Standard price - Conference (includes dinner) plus additional dinner guest
  • NZ$... - Concession - Conference (includes dinner)
  • NZ$... - Concession - Conference (includes dinner) plus additional dinner guest

* Concession may be either through early bird registration or different pricing for someone casually employed or unwaged, including students.

** Variation on Option 2 where discounted cost can be replaced with other additional cost eg field trip or site visit.

2 - Information for UC Checkout - system used to set up your price(s)

Below is the information you need to supply for your prices.

  • Redirect: Page to redirect to once somone pays online. This is usually the home page for your conference/event

I confirm my prices have been checked. They are full and final. I understand if I later want to change my prices this will cause delays.


Text for payment page(s) explained

You need to provide the text for the payment page(s) in UC Checkout. This is different to the text that appears on your registration page. If you have more than one price you need to provide us with text for each price.
See the example payment page (opens new tab) to see what a payment page in UC Checkout looks like. Note: After the payment is processed people receive a confirmation email with a tax receipt attached.

For each price on a payment page the information is in 2 parts as shown below.


Part 1, the description:

  1. Conference, dinner and Akaroa + dinner guest
    Note: For each price there is a 50 character limit including spaces between words. You cannot use '&' but you can use '+' and '/'

Part 2 of the text, the cost:

  1. You provide a cost inclusive of GST. In this example it is $925
    When the data '$925' is put into the UC Checkout system it appears on the payment page as - (Price Including GST) $925.00
    Part 2 is not part of the 50 character limit.
