Setting up (mapping to) your site in Dreamweaver
Access is given to staff who update and maintain University internet and/or intranet websites. Before the web pages can be edited, access needs to be set up and Dreamweaver mapped to the local (ones your work on in Dreamweaver) and remote (live on the internet) files.
Access to your site
If you have Dreaweaver and are trained by the Web Team please email to websupport@canterbury.ac.nz the following:
- your name
- user code
- name of the site(s) you will be administering
- site URL (web address)
Mapping Dreamweaver
This connects your computer through Dreamweaver to your site files. Instructions for PC users are at site access (staff only).
If you work on a Mac you will need to contact itservicedesk@canterbury.ac.nz for Mac support.
Creating a desktop shortcut to your site files
New images or files to be downloaded from your site need to be added directly to the appropriate folder in your site, not through Dreamweaver. (You add an image to a page, or link within Dreamweaver). A shortcut to your site files is easiest. Instructions for PC users are at site access (staff only).
If you work on a Mac you will need to contact itservicedesk@canterbury.ac.nz for Mac support.
