The Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Research & Innovation) has responsibility for:

  • overseeing the solicitation of research funding
  • implementing the University’s research policies
  • helping shape the research priorities of the University
  • oversight of the University’s Research Institutes
  • management of the Postgraduate Office
  • Academic Promotions Committee
  • Human Ethics Committee

He also has line management responsibility for the following Units at the University of Canterbury:

  • Ngai Tahu Research Centre
  • QuakeCore
  • UC HPC
