Researcher Summary

Research interests include:
1. Poverty, health and use of health services: poverty and its effects on access to primary care, geographies of diabetes, impacts of community ethnic inequality on smoking, urban deprivation on changing patterns of hospital admissions.
2. Public Sector Restructuring and Health care reform: policy overviews of health reform in both the primary and secondary sectors, community responses to hospital closure, growth and impact of new Primary Health Care Organisations.
3. Globalisation and corporate involvement in hospital care: effects of globalisation on the growth of for-profit involvement in the provision of hospital care, emergence of public-private partnerships and development of new co-located landscapes of hospital provision.
