Researcher Summary
I am particularly interested in qualitative research, which crosses different disciplines and challenges conventional research paradigms. My research interests include environmental management and tourism regulation in extreme environments, tourism and development, as well as research into interdisciplinary methodologies and education in general.
Aside from continuing my research into Antarctic tourism regulation, I am currently involved in an international research project, which looks into the challenges confronting early-career polar researchers who are engaged in interdisciplinary research projects. This project is conducted in cooperation with biologists and geo-scientists from the US, Canada and Portugal. We apply qualitative survey methodologies to assess the advantages and disadvantages of being involved in interdisciplinary research projects early on in a researcher’s career.
