Researcher Summary

My research is concentrated on two aspects within the exercise sciences; physical activity promotion and the physiology of adventure sports with a main emphasis on the psychophysiology of rock climbing.  Active research projects include:

1. An evaluation of the Green Prescription Programme in Canterbury
2. The potential benefits of high intensity interval training for physical activity promotion
3. Measurement of food intake and energy expenditure
4. An integrated/interdisciplinary approach to physical activity promotion
5. The interaction between psychological and physiological factors for beginning lead rock climbers
6. Force measurement in rock climbing
