This scholarship recognises and supports high-achieving undergraduate students at the University who demonstrate a strong interest in and potential to contribute to the electric power engineering industry in New Zealand. Power Systems Consultants New Zealand Limited (known as PSC) established the scholarship in 2005 with the support of the Electric Power Engineering Centre. PSC funds the scholarship.

Applicants must be enrolled full-time at the University in the Third Professional Year of a programme for a BE(Hons) degree in Electrical and Electronic Engineering that includes at least two electric power engineering courses. The current applicable electric power engineering courses are ENEL 471 Power Electronics 2, ENEL 480 Electrical Power Systems, and ENEL 481 Electrical Machines. Applicants must be New Zealand citizens or holders of New Zealand residence class visas.
