UC Mathematics and Statistics Scholarship
These scholarships recognise and support high-achieving 200-, 300- and 400-level students who are majoring in Mathematics or Statistics at the University of Canterbury. The scholarships will be awarded in three categories, with the value of each category ($1,000, $2,500, $5,000) reflecting the recipients' levels of achievement. Up to 45 scholarships will be available annually.
HOW TO APPLY FOR THIS SCHOLARSHIP
The on-line scholarship application programme will begin accepting applications eight weeks before applications open.
At 31 March in the year of application, an applicant must be enrolled at the University in at least 60 points of 200-, 300-, or 400-level courses in Mathematics or Statistics for the academic year. At least one of the courses in Mathematics or Statistics must be in Semester 1, and at least one of the courses in Mathematics or Statistics must be in Semester 2. Applicants in an honours programme in Mathematics or Statistics must be enrolled in CAMS449, MATH449, or STAT449. Applications will also be accepted from:
a. students who are enrolled at 31 March in the year of application for their final semester of a BA or BSc in Mathematics or Statistics at the University, and who intend to enrol in an honours programme in Mathematics or Statistics at the University in Semester 2; and
b. students who are enrolled at 31 March in the year of application for their final semester of an honours programme in Mathematics or Statistics at the University, and who intend to enrol in a master's or doctoral programme in Mathematics or Statistics at the University during Semester 2.
