Sims Empire Scholarship
Description
The Sims Empire Scholarship was founded in 1945 by Arthur Sims and Agnes Marion Sims with the object of promoting the study of Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics and Medicine.
Eligibility
Open to graduates of a University in New Zealand who were born in New Zealand or who at the time of application have been resident in New Zealand for a period of seven years or more.
The scholarship shall be awarded for outstanding merit and promise in the subjects of Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics or Medicine, or in any other cognate subject which the Academic Board may from time to time designate so as to give the scholar an opportunity for further study or research at some institution in Great Britain approved by the Academic Board, provided that if the institution so approved is to be a General Hospital it is the desire of the donors that it shall be St. Bartholomew's Hospital in London.
