UC Undergraduate Entrance Scholarship


This scholarship recognises and supports top-achieving students commencing an undergraduate degree programme at the University of Canterbury.

The regulations below are for the 2018 UC Undergraduate Entrance Scholarships. A copy of the regulations that apply for the 2017 scholarships is available from: 2017 UC Undergraduate Entrance Scholarship regulations .

You could also be eligible for one or more of UC's other undergraduate scholarships .


You do not need to apply for this scholarship: an approved Application to Enrol will be taken as the scholarship application.

The scholarship is awarded to students beginning their first year of an undergraduate degree programme at the University who:
a. have been awarded University Entrance, or the equivalent, through studying at secondary level in New Zealand; and
b. have studied at secondary level in New Zealand in the year of application (or, in the case of a gap year, in the year immediately prior);
c. have gained one of the academic qualifications listed in the appendix to the regulations; and
d. have not been enrolled in a degree programme at another university after gaining University Entrance or equivalent.

New Zealand secondary-level students who go on an official overseas exchange during or after secondary-level study may be considered on a case-by-case basis.
