Ngati Kahungunu Iwi Incorporated General and Research Scholarships

Description

Ngati Kahungunu Iwi Incorporated acknowledges education as an important key to personal, whanau, hapu and iwi development. The Iwi offers (a) General Scholarships for Ngati Kahungunu students who are currently enrolled at a tertiary institution as a full-time tauira in the third or final year of completing a degree or doing postgraduate study, and (b) Research scholarships for full-time Ngati Kahungunu tertiary postgraduate students undertaking research.

The General Scholarships are funded from a pool of $15,000, and the minimum award will be $500. Three Research Scholarships ($5000) are offered.

Priority will be given to students undertaking research projects within one of the following areas of strategic interest to Ngati Kahungunu:
Te Reo/Tikanga
Environmental Science
Health and Wellbeing
Information and Communication Technology

Eligibility

General Scholarships: Full-time undergraduate or postgraduate students in their 3rd or final year, who are registered on the Ngati Kahungunu Iwi Incorporated Iwi Registration Database
Research Scholarships: Full-time postgraduate students who are registered on the Ngati Kahungunu Iwi Incorporated Iwi Registration Database

Amount $500-$5,000
Tenure 1 year
Closing Dates 10 May 2014
