Planning your overseas study
- Begin planning overseas study at least 12-18 months ahead of when the study is to commence.
- Do not underestimate the challenges involved, such as identifying the most suitable study programmes, cost, language barriers, study/work visa requirements, bonding issues, etc.
- Seek advice from your department’s academic staff on appropriate overseas universities and potential supervisors. Talk with International Students about their experience.
- Build networks with overseas universities in the relevant department and International Office.
- Consider all funding options: scholarships, funding providers and businesses and departments.
