Welcome to the Scholarships Office

The Scholarships Office exists to assist you in applying for funding to help finance your tertiary study.

Some of our activities include:
advertising scholarships,
developing new scholarships,
supplying application forms and assisting with applications,
providing advice on overseas funding,
running an annual postgraduate scholarships seminar in September,
administering the awarding and payment of scholarships,
and publicising awards and presentation ceremonies.

Check the application forms page for upcoming closing dates.

Weekend Closing dates
Where a Canterbury closing date is listed, applications must be received at the Scholarships office by 5.00 pm, on that day. If a Canterbury closing date falls on a weekend or a Public holiday, applications will be accepted until 5.00pm on the next working day.

Note: Application forms are only available from 6-8 weeks ahead of the closing date.

NEW Marsden funded Master's Project: Leprosy in the Pacific and NZ
Closing Date: 18 February
The principal goal of this research is to provide an historical analysis of the official quarantine of leprosy patients on Makogai Island, the experience of these patients during and after leaving Makogai and the role of leprosy in forging new and ongoing connections between New Zealand and the Pacific Islands.
