Responsible for engineering and fronting most of the consulting operation at Bluewater Systems, Simon works with the latest ARM technology as used in cell phones, iPods and other portable products.

As founder of the company, Simon has now handed over the CEO role to concentrate on the technological side of the business. He enjoys the opportunity to work with the latest wireless technologies, and the interesting challenges that arise.

Simon has been interested in computers since he was 12 years old and the range of computers he had from then on opened his eyes to the possibilities of technology. Now the grounding in computer science that he gained at UC is essential to his daily work.

Before founding Bluewater Systems, Simon worked in software engineering and management roles in New Zealand, the UK and the USA.

Simon's plans for the future are to invest in and help start up a number of interesting technology and widget companies.

For others interested in Computer Science he advises, 'do a little more on embedded hardware as well as software. Electronic consumer products are a huge growth area, and also can be quite fascinating to work with.'
