Fair Trade Events

Fair Trade University

We're excited about our accreditation as a Fair Trade University so we invite staff and students to join us in a celebration of our commitment to making a difference – tangata tū, tangata ora.

Fairtrade Fortnight: 3rd – 16th August 2018

Our main time of celebration of Fair Trade on campus is during Fairtrade Fortnight. This year, Fairtrade Fortnight is from the 3rd – 16th August 2018. Fairtrade Fortnight is a campaign celebrated worldwide each year, with organisations, businesses, schools, universities, community groups, faith groups and individuals coming together to support and celebrate all things Fair Trade.

Stand up for everything you believe in during this year’s Fairtrade Fortnight! UC Sustainability Community is holding a series of talks, activities, film screenings and events on campus for you to participate in.

Have an idea for a Fair Trade event or campaign you’d like to see on campus? Contact sustainability@canterbury.ac.nz if you have an idea, or want to be involved in an event on campus.

You could also start a Fair Trade Club. Talk to the Sustainability Office and UCSA (Eco Club Network) about how to do this.
