Te Whare Akonga o Te Akatoki
Māori Students' Study Centre
The Whare is a place where Māori students can study, relax and meet other Māori students at Canterbury.
It is used primarily for private study, group study sessions and tutorials, student meetings, checking emails and catching up with friends over a coffee.
Māori students have 24 hour access to the Whare during the academic year. It is well equipped with study rooms, conference facilities and computers.
It also provides kitchen facilities if students wish to cook food during their studies, shower facilities and an administration office.
The Kaiwahakahaere is here to manage the daily activities of the Whare and to support all Māori students with their studies.
