Information for Applicants

How to apply

You can search for a suitable position with the University in several ways. By:

  • Key word
  • Job Opening Number
  • Location
  • Job Family
  • Job Type (i.e. Full time, Part time, Casual)
  1. When you find a position you are interested in, please ensure you have viewed the full advertisement and Position Description before applying. This advertisement will list vital information about the position.
  2. Applications for positions at the University must be submitted online by the relevant closing date stated in the Advertising material.  All correspondence in connection with your application will be conducted electronically by e-mail where possible.
  3. Prior to applying for a position, you will need to register by creating a user name and password of your choosing.
  4. If you wish to apply for multiple roles, please complete a separate Application for each role.
  5. You will then be asked to upload your resume, as follows:

Academic Positions
If you are applying for an Academic role please combine your cover letter, resume and any other supporting information into one document prior to uploading it (inclusive of a brief Research and Teaching Statement if required). Any further documentation we require e.g. Research papers, we will request via e-mail.

General Positions
If you are applying for a General role please combine your cover letter and resume into one document prior to uploading it.

Note:  Please could you ensure your document (combined cover letter, resume and any other supporting information) is saved under a file name that includes your name (surname).  The file name should not exceed 15 characters.

  1. Please ensure your email address is valid as this will be used to communicate the status and progress of your application. If you register with a Hotmail or Yahoo account, please remember to check your "Junk" folders for the confirmation of your application email, and set us up as a known email address, so you don't miss out on important correspondence.
  2. When you submit your application, you will be asked to voluntarily provide your Equity and Diversity information.  The information will be aggregated and used for statistical purposes only, and will not be disclosed to those involved in making the appointment decision. You may decline to provide this information if you wish.
  3. To complete your application you will be required to indicate your agreement to the University’s Declaration and Consent terms. Select the “I agree to these terms” button at the end of the declaration and consent page.
  4. Please complete your application in one sitting and DO NOT use the browser back and forward buttons. Only use the links and buttons provided within the online application.

Note: Please ensure you hit the “save and submit” button after completing your application.  It is important that you not only SAVE, but also SUBMIT your application to ensure your application is successfully received for the role you have applied for.

  1. You will receive confirmation of the acceptance of your application online and a confirmation email will be sent to the address provided in your application.

Note: The Careers page (job vacancies) only shows 5 vacancies at a time - to view additional vacancies please select the "next" button at the top right hand side under Job Posting Information.

Review your application

We understand that it can be stressful waiting for news on a job application, so we give you the option to review your application at any time. Just sign in to the system using your user name and password on the Careers page. Once you're logged in, you can view your applications, apply for other positions, withdraw yourself from positions, change your password and view notifications regarding your application.

Job alerts

Once you have registered your details with us, you can set up Job alerts. You can choose the types of roles you are interested in, and we will automatically email you the details of potential opportunities. To create a Job Alert, enter your search criteria on the Job Search page and save your search ensuring you select the “Use as Job Agent” box.
