Scholarship opportunities for international students
There are number of scholarships available to international students through the University of Canterbury and the New Zealand Government.
Big boost in UC International Scholarships for 2012
- UC International Mobility Outbound Exchange Award
for University of Canterbury students who spend one semester or one year at an overseas institution; At least 50 awards of up to $5,000 - UC International Mobility Inbound Study Abroad Award
for students from overseas universities to come and experience one semester or one year under UC’s Study Abroad programme; At least 50 awards of up to $5,000. - UC International Student Undergraduate Four Year Scholarship
for top achieving international students who have gained University Entrance and who will commence a preparatory programme or undergraduate degree; 24 awards of NZ$80,000. - English Language Merit Award
to recognise and support top achieving international students who have gained University Entrance in New Zealand and who will commence an undergraduate degree programme at the University of Canterbury; NZ$500 tuition credit towards an English Language or Foundation Studies programme.
Postgraduate scholarships
There are a number of scholarship opportunities available to international postgraduate students, if you are consistently achieving A grades or the equivalent, we recommend that you consider the following scholarships, which can pay a significant proportion of the costs of studying at the University of Canterbury.
Important: In addition to applying for a scholarship,
students must also apply for admission to
the University.
