Bachelor of Commerce in Economics
Susan’s interest in meeting new people and experiencing different cultures was one of the reasons she decided to study in New Zealand. As one of the gifted students at Wuhan No.1 School, a reputable high school attached to Central China Normal University in Wuhan, China, Susan was also drawn to the University of Canterbury because of the special relationship between Wuhan and Christchurch. She was lucky enough to receive a Friendship City Scholarship.
Susan began her study at UC with Foundation Studies. The Commerce stream of the programme was a natural choice for her because of her passion for Economics. Susan is now in her first year of study towards a Bachelor of Commerce in Economics. Looking back to her days undertaking Foundation Studies, she feels that the programme and the Academic Communication course in particular, helped her build up her the academic writing skills needed for her degree studies.
Not only is Susan enjoying her academic study at UC, she is also enjoying making new friends through joining clubs and societies on campus. Susan also loves the lifestyle in New Zealand and finds the people here very friendly.
When Susan graduates, she plans to build up her career with the knowledge she gained in Economics at UC. “It is an awesome opportunity to be able to pursue tertiary education in New Zealand!”
