It was because of a friend's recommendation that Katelin decided
to leave Canada and continue her studies in Christchurch.
She says, "I was told that you can have an amazing lifestyle here and it's true. The people are nice and it feels laid back plus there are loads of outdoor activities like hiking, surfing, skiing, and mountain biking available at your doorstep".
Specialising in teaching art and photography, Katelin has also been impressed with the quality of her programme. "Due to the various classroom placements, I've got great experience in teaching students from different ethnicities and socio-economic backgrounds. As an art teacher, I also really like the fact that New Zealand has its own sense of artistic identity.
"I came here to learn. I've ended up coming here to stay."
