Graduate Diploma in Teaching and Learning (Early Childhood)
Sasha began her studies at the University of Canterbury by embarking on the Certificate in English for Tertiary Studies. She has just completed a Graduate Diploma in Teaching and Learning (Early Childhood) and plans to start a Masters in Audiology.
The Certificate course prepared Sasha for her studies at the University and she attributes her success to the dedication and hard work of her tutors. “The tutors were amazing. Their professionalism, willingness to help and great sense of humour helped me to improve my English. The tutors taught me essay writing, note making and extract reading skills which are imperative in order to succeed at university. Often when I get an A grade for my assignments I think about my tutors, the people who helped me to achieve my high grades.”
Sasha also appreciates the convenience of the University campus: “You have everything you need on campus: six libraries, a book shop, a health centre, a recreation centre, numerous cafes and even childcare services! In addition to this, there is a comprehensive support system for international students and there is always someone on hand to answers questions and offer support when you need it”.
It was very important for Sasha to study somewhere with excellent postgraduate opportunities as she plans to focus her research on early childhood education. It was also important her qualification would be recognized internationally as it gives her opportunity to travel and work in other countries.
