US Financial Aid
The University of Canterbury (UC) is an approved institution for US federal aid. Eligible US citizens enrolled in eligible programmes may apply for US financial aid, either through the US Federal Direct loan programme or through a private loan.
Although most of our degree and research programmes are eligible for financial aid there are some UC programmes that are not eligible. These include:
- Graduate Diploma Programmes
- Postgraduate Diploma Programmes
- Foundation Studies
- Certificate in English for Tertiary Studies
- Certificate in University Preparation
- Certificate of Proficiency
If you are enrolling at the University of Canterbury through a Study Abroad or other Exchange programme your Financial Aid is processed through the Financial Aid Office at your home university.
If you are unsure whether your programme is eligible please contact the Financial Aid Office. The University of Canterbury has a Cohort Default Rate of 0.0.
