Eligibility for domestic fees
International PhD students are eligible to pay tuition fees at the domestic rate provided that they reside in New Zealand and study under a New Zealand visa.
Australian students admitted at any level are permitted to pay the domestic student tuition fee, provided that they study in New Zealand.

Student Services Levy
The Student Services Levy helps to provide many support services for students, such as the International Welcome, your Canterbury Card, Health and counselling services, Careers advisory service, Cultural Support, Campus recreation maintenance and facilities improvement.
Cost of Living
To help you to estimate the money that you will need for living expenses in New Zealand, you may refer to the cost of living. Accommodation will be a large part of every student’s total costs.
There are also Non-tuition Fees for services which the University provides.
