Health and Safety

The Health and Safety Section of the Human Resources Department is responsible for:

• Ensuring that the University meets its obligations with all occupational safety and health statutes and regulations, including fire protection, hazardous substances, emergency planning and co-ordination, and general safety.
• Managing hazards and other risks by applying effective risk management strategies.
• Health and safety education aimed at risk management.
• Provision of occupational health services.
• Safety both on the University Campus and at Field Stations.
• Management of accident compensation claims.
