Students with disabilities
If you have a temporary or permanent disability you can apply for special arrangements to be made for your examinations.
Special arrangements may involve:
- using a reader and/or writer
- an extension of time
- special seating
- help with mobility difficulties
- use of a computer
- ergonomic furniture
Any student who requires special arrangements will sit his/her examination in a room allocated for this purpose.
How to apply
Deadlines for applications for special arrangements for 2013 examinations are:
- Mid-year examinations: Thursday, 23 May
- End-of-year examinations: Thursday, 3 October
To apply for special arrangements for examinations, you must register with the Disability Resource Service. Please see Special Arrangements for Examinations (Disability Resource Service website).
A letter outlining your arrangements will be sent to your student email address closer to examination time.

Applications submitted following the close of lectures will be assessed on a case-by-case basis and may be declined.
For further information, or, if you decide not to or cannot sit under the special conditions arranged contact the Examinations Special Arrangements Co-ordinator in advance as early as possible.
