MBIE Endeavour Workshops - 7 Aug
BIC is holding a series of workshops aimed at researchers who are planning on submitting an MBIE Smart Idea or Research Programme concept in the next round.
The purpose of our workshops are to make a start on shaping ideas, and provide support and feedback to applicants. We will have a panel including staff from Callaghan Innovation, UC’s Research and Innovation, former panellists and other local experts.
We will be asking those that intend to submit proposals to give a short presentation (5-10 minutes) and we will follow this with specific feedback. There will also be general discussion about the process and MBIE grant strategy.
In preparation, please think about:
- Proposal type (Smart Idea or Research Programme)
- What is the stretchy science that will be done?
- What issue will this address?
- What Vision Mātauranga have you identified and how have you engaged around this?
- In what way will this benefit New Zealand?
- The team
- What level of engagement has there been with partners/stakeholders/end-users?
We expect a call to register proposals will come in late-September 2017. Smart Ideas concepts will likely be due around November, with invitations to submit full proposals issued around May 2018. Research Programmes proposals are submitted in full and will be due around March. (Note: these dates are based on the 2017 round and may be subject to change.)
