This year the fieldwork in the Ross Sea area included visits to Scott=92s historic huts.=0D=0A=0D=0AThe DVD Susanna has made uses the complete soundtrack of her visit to the Discovery hut, with photographs of the area and of the descendants Hartley Ferrar never met, as well as some from other sources.=0D=0A=0D=0AThe presentation in the Canterbury Museum, taking place in the Sir Robertson Stewart Hall of Antarctic Discovery, will be in the presence of some of H T Ferrar=92s artefacts; things he used constantly in Antarctica. After introducing and showing the DVD, Susanna will create a new piece of music to integrate her experiences in Christchurch and Antarctica with the historical memories of the =93Discovery=94 expedition.=0D=0A=0D=0ASusanna Ferrar is a member of the London Improvisers Orchestra. She has been involved in this form of music-making, free improvisation, since 1979 and has published one cd, =93A Boy Leaves Home=94 (MASH 004-2, 1994).=0D=0A=0D=0APlease check back on the Events Calendar on the day of the event to ensure the event is still being held.
