Visiting Canterbury Fellowships
Welcome to the home page for Visiting Canterbury Fellows
Visiting Canterbury Fellowships may be awarded to distinguished scholars from overseas who speak the English language fluently in the schools/departments within the College of Arts, the College of Education, Health and Human Development and the School of Law that do not have access to the Erskine Fund, for the purpose of giving lectures in such subjects to students at the University of Canterbury. Nominations of visitors of wide interest are encouraged.
In each yearly round there is a total allocation of five Fellowships and/or Grants and nominations from eligible schools/departments are assessed by the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Research and Innovation) on a competitive basis. Applications are called for each February with a closing date end of April. Decisions are expected to be notified to all applicants in August/September. Applications forms are available on the intranet for UoC staff only.
