How to get information
In the event of an emergency due to an incident or extreme weather, a number of sources may be used to provide information.
If internet access is available during an emergency updates will be posted on the homepage of this site (UC Emergency Management).
If internet access is disrupted, information will be conveyed to staff and students via other sources, including UC Whispir Alert, notice boards, security staff and runners.
University closure (during business hours)
Closure of the University during business hours will (if possible) be announced via UC Whispir Alert and All Staff and All Student emails. The closure will also be broadcast by:
- Newstalk ZB
- Classic Hit
- More FM
- The Breeze
- RDU
University closure (after business hours)
If the university closes after hours due to an incident or extreme weather, it will be broadcast by:
- Newstalk ZB
- Classic Hits
- More FM
- The Breeze
- RDU
