Master of Laws (International Law and Politics) LLM(IntLaw&Pols)

The specialist International Law and Politics LLM is a Law degree designed for students who have a basic knowledge of law and wish to develop their specialist knowledge in international law and politics.

Students take four courses in international law and international politics, plus a dissertation.

The degree prepares students for careers in the diplomatic service, specialised legal practice, inter-governmental agencies, non-governmental organisations and the military.

Entry requirements

Candidates must have qualified for the degree of Bachelor of Laws with good grades, or be admitted ad eundem statum. Relevance and standard of undergraduate studies will be criteria for approval.

Courses

At least one course, but no more than two, must be from Group B of the schedule. One of the four courses credited must be ILAP 613 Advanced Principles of Public International Law.

Duration

One to two years of consecutive full-time study or, with the approval of the Dean of Law, two to four years of consecutive part-time study.
