Graduate Diploma in Management GradDipMgt

The Graduate Diploma in Management provides an overview of the various functions of management to people with a non-commerce background. It will help students whose first degree is in Arts/Science/Engineering/Education gain an understanding of the concepts, tools, frameworks and language of business. It will also provide students who do not have a degree in Commerce or Management an entry point into the honours and master’s programmes in Management.

Entry requirements

Candidates must have qualified for a degree. Acceptance for the programme will depend on the standard and relevance of previous studies.

Application process

A special application is required. It is essential that all applicants discuss their application with the Graduate Diploma in Management Coordinator before completing the application form.

Courses

The diploma requirements are a minimum of 120 points from courses MGMT 300-599, MKTG 300-399, MGMT 280 and MGMT and MKTG graduate courses as approved by the Head of the Department of Management.

MGMT 520-529 are offered on a modular basis, each consisting of three two-day programmes that are spaced one month apart. Successful completion of five of these modular papers meets the requirements for completing the diploma. Entrance into these courses also requires industry experience.

Duration

One year full-time. A student enrolled part-time in the diploma can complete the qualification in a minimum of two years and up to a maximum of four years.
