Graduate Diploma in Journalism GradDipJ
The Graduate Diploma in Journalism is an intensive one-year programme for graduates who intend to work in newspapers, magazines, radio, television, the internet, or as communicators in the public and private sectors.
Entry requirements
Candidates must have completed a bachelor’s degree.
The standard and relevance of previous study together with life and work experience, and the applicant’s ability to demonstrate a sense of vocation about journalism, will be the criteria for selection.
Applications must be made to the Journalism programme by 31 October 2013.
Courses
The diploma consists of five courses, to be completed in one year:
- JOUR 503 Law of Journalism
- JOUR 504 History and Role of the News Media
- JOUR 505 Social and Political Background to the News
- JOUR 506 News Journalism
- JOUR 507 Specialist Writing
The diploma may be awarded with Distinction.
Duration
One year full-time.
