Graduate Diploma in Arts GradDipArts

The Graduate Diploma in Arts offers people who already hold a bachelor's degree (such as a BCom, BFA or BSc) an opportunity to study arts in-depth.

It is designed to provide a qualification for graduates seeking to qualify for entry to postgraduate qualifications in Arts, or to extend or upgrade their existing qualifications.

Entry requirements

Candidates must have qualified for a bachelor's degree. For entry to graduate courses a B average or better is normally required.

Courses

Students normally take courses from the BA schedule, approved by the Head of the relevant school/department/programme and the Dean of Humanities and Social Sciences.

They are required to pass courses totalling not fewer than 120 points; of these 90 points must be at 300-level, including 60 in a single subject. A maximum of 15 points towards the Graduate Diploma in Arts may be taken from subjects not in the BA schedule. Normally all courses would be from the same subject.
