Description

Honours Dissertation

The objectives for the course are for students to be able to demonstrate that they can:
•  Write a 1,200 word research proposal on a legal topic; and
•  Orally present and defend a research proposal; and
•  Write a 12,000 word (excluding referencing footnotes) dissertation on a legal topic to the highest Honours level.

Prerequisites

Subject to approval of the Head of Department.

The Draft Proposal is due by 12noon on Monday 29 April 2013, with the Final Proposal being due by 12noon on Monday 20 May 2013.

For students wishing to graduate in December 2013:
The Draft Research Paper is due by 12noon on Friday 13 September 2013, with the Final Research Paper being due by 12noon on Friday 11 October 2013.

For students wishing to graduate in April 2014:
The Draft Research Paper is due by 12noon on Wednesday 20 November 2013, with the Final Research Paper being due by 12noon on Wednesday 18 December 2013.

The proposals (both draft and final) and the research papers (both draft and final) must be submitted in paper copy and electronic copy (word file) to the Academic Administrator by the due dates listed above.
