Description

Development of statistical mechanics from thermodynamic principals. Entropy interpreted from both the thermodynamic and statistical viewpoint. Applications in nuclear and particle physics including radioactivity.

Assessment Due Date Percentage  Description
Final Exam 50% Your performance in a formal examination at the end of the semester. This exam will be conducted using the normal University procedures for end-of-course examinations. The Course grading will be Pass/Fail only.
Performance in weekly meetings 50% Your understanding of the material as demonstrated by your performance in each of the weekly meetings. If your weekly performance is NOT satisfactory, then you will be told this and have an opportunity to study more and try again.
