Special Topic
This course aims to introduce students to the principles of computer programming and statistics as applied to physical sciences. The primary goal is to provide students with the practical programming and data analysis skills that are necessary for both their degree course and most careers in physics. The emphasis throughout will be on developing insight, understanding and practical skills, as opposed to the formal/mathematical aspects of programming and statistics.
This course will provide students with an opportunity to develop the Graduate Attributes specified below:
Critically competent in a core academic discipline of their award
Students know and can critically evaluate and, where applicable, apply this knowledge to topics/issues within their majoring subject.
